our commitment: Florapace is built with your privacy in mind. we collect only what is necessary to make your plants grow, and we never sell your personal data to third parties.
1. introduction
Welcome to Florapace ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Florapace mobile application. By using the app, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
2. information we collect
2.1 health and fitness data
step data (core functionality): Florapace reads your daily step count from Apple Health (iOS) or Google Fit (Android) to grow your plants. This data is used solely to power your in-app garden experience.
- daily step counts
- activity progress toward your goal
- we do NOT access heart rate, sleep, nutrition, or other sensitive health metrics
- we do NOT store raw health data on our servers — step counts are processed locally on your device
2.2 app usage data
- garden progress (plant growth stages, streaks, full blooms)
- app settings and preferences (step goal, notification settings)
- in-app activity (screens visited, features used)
- subscription status and purchase history
2.3 device information
- device type and operating system version
- app version
- crash reports and error logs (to improve stability)
- we do NOT collect your name, email, or personal identifiers unless you contact us for support
2.4 information you provide
- custom step goals you set within the app
- notification preferences
- any information you share when contacting our support team
3. how we use your information
we use the data we collect to:
- grow your daily plant companions based on your step progress
- calculate streaks, full blooms, and garden stats
- sync your garden progress across devices (pro subscribers)
- send step goal and streak notifications (if enabled)
- generate weekly activity recaps
- improve app performance, stability, and user experience
- process and manage your subscription
- respond to support requests
- comply with legal obligations
4. data sharing and disclosure
we do not sell your data. we do not share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties for their own marketing purposes.
we may share limited data with trusted third parties only in these circumstances:
- service providers: third-party services that help us operate the app (e.g., cloud storage for sync, crash analytics). these providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- payment processors: subscription payments are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. we do not receive or store your payment card information.
- legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
- business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity.
5. apple health and google fit permissions
Florapace requests permission to read step data from your device's health platform. specifically:
- iOS (Apple Health): we request read-only access to step count data. we do not write to Apple Health, and we do not access any other health categories.
- Android (Google Fit / Health Connect): we request read access to steps data only.
- you can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings. revoking permissions will prevent the app from reading your steps and growing your plants.
- health data is processed on your device and is never uploaded to our servers in raw form.
6. data retention
- local garden data is stored on your device and retained until you delete the app
- cloud-synced data (pro subscribers) is retained for the duration of your active subscription plus 90 days
- after account inactivity exceeding 12 months, cloud data may be deleted
- crash logs and analytics data are retained for up to 12 months
- support communications are retained for up to 2 years
7. data security
we implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
- encryption of data at rest for cloud-synced content
- limited access to user data within our team
- regular security reviews
no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. while we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. your rights and choices
8.1 health data permissions
you can revoke Florapace's access to your health data at any time through your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Health; Android: Settings → Apps → Permissions).
8.2 notifications
you can enable or disable step goal reminders and streak notifications in the app settings or your device notification settings.
8.3 data deletion
to delete your app data, uninstall the app from your device. for cloud data deletion requests, contact us at mallik.puranjan@gmail.com and we will process your request within 30 days.
8.4 access and portability
you may request a copy of the data we hold about you by contacting our support team.
9. children's privacy
Florapace is suitable for all ages. we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. if you believe your child has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us and we will take prompt action to delete it.
10. third-party services
Florapace may use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store: for subscription billing and app distribution
- Apple Health / Google Fit: for reading step data
- crash analytics provider: for app stability monitoring (anonymized data only)
11. international data transfers
Florapace is operated from the United States. if you use the app from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US. by using the app, you consent to this transfer.
12. changes to this privacy policy
we may update this privacy policy from time to time. when we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. for material changes, we may notify you through the app. continued use of Florapace after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
